I was so excited when Kaitlyn reached out to me and Bryen for so many reasons, but most of all because she wanted to do a Boho desert shoot and video, and that style is my exact spirit animal. If I could redo my senior portraits, I would have them look exactly like this. My engagements? Like this. Maternity? This. Family pictures? THIS!
You get the point... I love the desert :) The Joshua trees out here in Vegas might not be as towering as they are in Joshua Tree NP, but they sure are perfect to me. The desert, bathed in sunlight in the late evening is the prettiest thing to me, and feeds my soul. I don't even care that I got stung by a bee out there (which hurt really bad) because the I'm a desert rat and always will be. Just look at these photos and tell me you don't want to build a cabin in the desert and never leave?
I love that Kaitlyn agreed to meet two total strangers out in the desert (we did our social media background check of course), because I went home with a new friend. She is so sweet and we are so similar. She went to CU Boulder, I went to Colorado School of Mines only 30 minutes away. She drives a tiguan, which is the car I wanted... and I drive a mazda cx5 which is the car she wanted. We were both cheerleaders, and just got along swell. It was meant to be.
